Smooth black truffle

It is commonly called smooth black truffle. It has an almost smooth peridium or rind with depressed warts, of a reddish brown color and a brown gleba tending to purplish with large, numerous and light brownish veins. It has elliptical, irregularly reticulated and alveolar spores gathered in 1-3 pedunculated asci. It gives off a pleasant, rather strong garlicky scent. It ripens approximately from August to October.
