Uncinatum Truffle

It is commonly called hooked truffle or black truffle of Fragno. It has a black peridium or warty rind, with poorly developed warts and a dark chocolate hazelnut-colored gleba or pulp, with numerous clear branched veins. It has elliptical spores, with a well-pronounced reticulum, widely alveolar, gathered in up to 5 in number, which have long and curved hook-like papillae. It gives off a pleasant scent. It ripens approximately from September to December.
